23.09.2020 - Master or PhD students

    About Tuparev Technologies

Headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria, with colleagues in several European countries, we focus primarily on large and complex projects - financial services, research, education, government, research, printing industry, and utilities. Our entire software stack is based on Apple related technologies - because we love them! We have a small team, but we never say “no” to difficult or crazy projects.

At WWDC'20 Tuparev Technologies were told by Apple engineers, that no one in the industry had ever attempted to open giga-pixel images on mobile devices. In our team we strive even further. We are aiming to allow users of our new apps' to perform real time image processing on any modern iOS device, even for these large giga-pixel images.

For this we are looking for master or PhD students in the fields of astronomy and physics who are not afraid of doing crazy maths or taking a deep dive into the inner workings of modern GPUs. Things you will be working on are super fun projects like:

    • Representing butterfly projection on polar coordinate layout
    • Representation of time coordinates in astronomy images
    • New algorithms for lossless compression of astronomical spectral data
    • Large image subtraction for optimal transient detection, hypothesis testing, and in photometry

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we mean it. If you fit in our team, accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their profession. Parents and others who might need flexible working hours will also be accommodated as much as possible.

Please do not send us a standard CV! Tell us about who you are, what you like and dislike, your experiences and expertise. Do you have an app on the AppStore? Open source projects on GitHub?
